Hi again you awesome posters!
I will be leaving the Riviera after visiting for a week and meeting other friends in Avignon to visit the Arles, Rousillon, Sorge area for a week. I have from May 21am til May 23 around 5pm to spend alone without a car. What would you suggest I do for that time.
Is it worth taking the TVG to Aix and spending the night or would I have enough to do in Avignon? Is there somewhere else you would recommend that is easy to access? I have never traveled alone and am just a little apprehensive...not for my safety so much as the schlepping of suitcases and finding my way.
Now I will sit back and wait for all of your wonderful suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I can make many recommendations, but it would help to know what interests you: history, art, Roman structures...please advise. Will you have a car? That makes a difference.

I would go to Hyeres and spend two nights there, take the bus to the Ile de Porquerolles, and chill out for a day and spend the other on a beach on the Giens peninsula.

If you are alone I would go with your first idea and spend some time in Aix- it%26#39;s a nice city and easy to navigate.

So is Nice, and the time you have would be well spent in that lovely city.

I will not have a car and I will go to Paris after the week in Provence so I will probably do museums there. I love history, art etc but now that I think of it, I might just like a beautiful view and a little relaxing time. I could do Aix if if is not too much hassle to get into town with luggage and then again out of town to get to avignon. Since I will be alone, I don%26#39;t think I want to do too much running around.
I don%26#39;t know anything about Hyeres. I will have just spent a week based in Villefranche. Is this similar? We will have already visited some of the towns along the coast. Is there not much to do in Avignon? Are 2 days too much?
