Dear fellow travellers
I have just had the most awful esperience with Thierry Farudji of ParisBestLodge Apartments.
He has emailed me threatening to take action through his %26quot;advocate %26quot; in Paris because I didn%26#39;t email him a signed contractand send a deposit for one of the apartments he %26quot;owns%26quot; and he is %26quot;furious%26quot; that I didn%26#39;t rent his apartment.
He has threatened to have his advocate arrange to have my husband and I detained overnight at the airport to punish us for not renting his apartment.He has orgainsed a %26quot;blue paper%26quot; whatever that is!!!!
Not wanting to take any risks we have contacted consular and embassy authorities as well as the French Tourist bureau in Sydney Australia.
This guy wants you to pay an up front security bond of $US700 and vows to return it to you after you leave Paris - like YEAH!
I didn%26#39;t pursue a rental through this man because it all sounded dodgy and after his outbursts and threats to me via email I feel now that I made the right decision.
So, even if you hear this guy is ok he has the worst temper and tries to intimidate you and is VERY insulting and rude. He calls you names , casts dispersions upon your character and accuses you of a lack of education because you DO NOT rent his apartment.
My travel agent suggested we write about our experience at TripAdvisor to warn others about this man - so I hope I save someone the experience we have had .
By the way , he is being investigated by his own travel bureau and it looks like he might lose any baccreditation he has from them because of this unprofessional , unprovocked behaviour.

I can%26#39;t speak to this person%26#39;s experience, but only to my own. I have had essentially good experiences with Thierry Faradji, as have the friends I referred to him. It%26#39;s hard for me to understand how the man I%26#39;ve met and dealt with would have outbursts of temper and make threats.

After 8 years of activities, thousand clients, year, all satisfied, 250 positive testimonials on my website, many positive reviews everywhere in the forums, for the FIRT time, I get a negative opinion from one traveller : 1shazza.
A traveller I never saw, who doesnt know me....
People who know me, know I work in trust.
I just ask a safety deposit cheque that I DONT bank to secure a reservation.
1) This 1shazza asked me a contract.
2) I sent here a contract like always
3) she NEVER answered to me, as I was candidly holding the apartment for her
4) When I asked her simply the arrival time, she told me, no I dont come anymore.
???
No %26quot;sorry%26quot;, no explanation, nothing.
I recognize I was furious because I dont like to send contracts with my name for nothing. (Especially to few countries when they use my contrats illegally to get visas for france).
I simple %26quot;sorry Thierry, I got your contract but for any reason, I wont come to paris%26quot; would be enough.
Many clients do that because they have personal reason to cancel a trip and I respect that completely.
No, this woman was immediately extremely reactive and extremely negative.
Now, she takes pleasure to write bad comments on parisbestlodge.
I keep in touch constantly for any traveller to give all the correspondance I kept with this strange woman who ask contracts, never answer and say after abed things. You can imagine the %26quot;personnage%26quot;.

I didnt resist to the temptation to tell her that I will make a cmoplaint to the airport ploice which will keep them a night in CDG jail.. ehehehee. Of course :
1) This kind of complaint doesnt exist
2) I am not an agressive nature and Dont like to be negative.
Once again, when she received my contract, a simple, %26quot;sorry, we wont take your apartment%26quot; would have been very enough. More than 3 weeks of silence... Am I not normal???

Thank you for that information. Thinking you had an agreement to rent and then finding you don%26#39;t just 8 days before would have been very annoying. Your threats to her, however empty, probably made the situation very worrying for her and led to her posting here. Common courtesy on her part would have been to let you know she was not proceeding with the rental.

I%26#39;m surprised that your travel agent didn%26#39;t suggest also that you report him to the French Tourist Authorities. Send them copies of his emails and any other hard copy threats he made.

I did and have . Also the French Consulate and the French Embassy have taken his name and details

My view is that 1shazza was incredibly rude to Thierry by not notifying him that s/he did not need the apartment. I am not surprised that he was upset.
Thierry held the apartment for 1shazza in good faith, and was then left with a vacancy that he might have filled if 1shazza had had the good manners to say that the apartment was not required.

I contacted this man on 15th March and am happy to post or send ALL emails sent by him to me and me back to him that ANYONE might want to see- he sends and quotes passages of emails - he distorts the truth!
He sent me an email on Thursday 9th April ( 3 days ago) asking for my contract - even though he wrote to me and advised that he only held apartments for 48 hours which I respected because I have also been on the other end of rentals and people need to rent as soon as they have a FIRM commitment from a prospective tenant ie 48 hours has passed and no reply or response has been recieved confirming payment and contract is on it%26#39;s way- which HE DID NOT have from me.
I was advised by French Tourism here in Sydney to contact the French authorities and they( Ie French Tourism) will investigate my claims upon receiving my emails - which I have sent today.T staff at the Consulate and Embassies in Canberra told me that this man was attempting to intimidate me and cause me undue distress and concern.
He does not have the power to have a %26quot;little blue piece of paper make you lose your plane %26amp; hold you at airport overnight %26quot;( quote from his email to me on Friday)- he is a very dubious character indeed and has no right to try and upset people because they do not rent his apartments because of the doubt they have about his authenticity - I could not have told him this because I now know what sort of a response I would have received had I expressed these concerns!

All of the authorities I contacted advised I was wise NOT to have continued with a booking where someone I do not know on the other side of the world asks for a cheque for $US700 - in good faith.
They also advised that by taking copies of the emails should we have problems these would soon be resolved upon reading the contents and insults contained in them.
I hold true to the belief of CAVEAT EMPTOR and still believe that warning future renters of this man was the right thing to do - whether I be his first or last victim!
