Hoping to do without a car-hire this trip as we plan to hire bikes on arrival! We wonder if there is a bus or train we can catch from the airport to Piraillon which is just 6km short of Cap Ferret along the Peninsula please. Any experience appreciated. Three kids, youngest 6 years. Thanks in advance

There is a regional bus (Citram 601) that goes from Bordeaux to Cap Ferret and passes by the airport. However, the stop is on the other side of the air field and you%26#39;d have to take either a taxi or a bus to get there.
According to the Mérignac town web site, they recommend using a taxi for the 2 km trip to get to the %26quot;Oscar Auriac (Beutre)%26quot; bus stop, but if you are so inclined the No. 69 bus should get you there, too. (All this is according to the various web sites for the local transportation network.)
You don%26#39;t mention which day of the week you%26#39;ll be traveling, but according to the Citram web site for a date at the end of May--this is the limit for their future schedules--there are three buses that pass by Oscar Auriac: 11:35, 4:16, and 6:58. Hopefully, one of these times will be convenient for you.

Many thanks DJM Wineworks. Delighted with that news and all the schedule information. Merci beaucoup. We are travelling on a Wednesday, and returning on a Friday. Vive la France

You%26#39;re welcome; just remember to check back in July--they may have a summer schedule in effect. Here%26#39;s the link to the Citram site for the 601 bus:
