visit to monte carlo

Hi my cruise ship will be docking in Cannes on the 4th of Sept 09, at 7.00am and i have about 5-6 hours.

What would anyone recommend? Is Montecarlo doable?

are there any train at that time in the morning?

What about Cannes? Is it worthed to stay there and stroll aorund?

It is doable, but you won%26#39;t have much time. There are plenty of trains in the morning for people going to work. The journey takes about an hour.

As Monacocabbie says it is doable but it may be tight. Although the train ride takes about 1 hour each way you should also factor in another hour and a half or so for delays and getting to and from the rail station.

It will be easier and less stressful to stay in Cannes and stroll around .There is more than enough to occupy your time slot especially if you take a ferry to the Isles de Lérins or a bus to old Le Cannet. In Cannes itself, there is the old town Le Suquet, the Croisette, the ports, beaches, museums, markets, shops, people watching etc also 3 casinos.

If you want to venture a little further you could get to Antibes and back more comfortably by train and/or bus than Monte Carlo.
