The New "Paris Pass"

Anyone out there know anything about this pass. It %26quot;seems%26quot; to be a good deal but the Metro part is only good for districts 1-3 and most of those places we will never have time to get to as we have only 7 days.

Just wondering if anyone has thoughts about it.

Thanks!!

Hi,

As mentioned in this forum by me and many others, the %26quot;Paris Pass%26quot; isn%26#39;t a good deal, as you figured it out yourself when saying %26quot;most of those places we will never have time to get to%26quot;

I suggest considering buying a museum pass (see http://www.parismuseumpass.com/en/home.php) and a separate pass for the transportation. In order to help you with the transportation pass, could you please specify which areas outside Paris you%26#39;ll visit (if any), how do you plan to go from the airport to your hotel and on what days of the week will you be in Paris?

P.S, the number 1-3, that you mentioned isn%26#39;t districts (arrondissements), but zones. All the 20 arrondissements of Paris are included in zone 1.

We too are in Paris soon and I was thinking about the 5 day combo pass through conciergerie .com.

We will be in the 5th and are coming from airport via taxi .

Any advice on how to keep spending on unnecessary travel to a minimum would be much appreciated.

We want to go to Versailles but this is just an add on of around 5euros I believe. thanks

Hi

Thanks for your reply!!! I really do appreciate it. The reason I used the word %26quot;District%26quot; is because I could not spell arrondissement!! Now that you have done that for me I will copy and paste it!!

I can say the french word just could not spell it :- D

I believe the 18th arrondissement for le marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen is about as far as we will need to go. So, your information has been very helpful. I have been to Paris before but my niece bought the passes for us. I will buy the Museum Pass and refer to Rick Steves guide for the Metro.

Thanks very Much!!

%26#39;..unnecessary spending..%26#39; is a highly subjective term. As an example, there are several significantly lower cost options/alternatives to a taxi as a mode of airport transfer--RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train/Metro; Roissybus, Les Cars Air France--between CDG and one%26#39;s destination within central Paris. Unless one has physical mobility or other %26#39;special needs%26#39; issues, a taxi could easily be described as %26#39;..unnecessary spending..%26#39;.

Perhaps you can explain your own definition/criteria of %26#39;..unnecessary spending..%26#39;?
