If you use the motorway (which is toll-free in this area) it will take about 2 hours from Deauville and then to get back to Bayeux will take about 1.5 hours.

Hi - we just got back from France and did just that - drove from Bayeux to Mont St. Michel - it was a wonderful trip. I would advise going early in the morning to beat the crowds. We arrived around 10:00, went directly to the Abbey, and then had lunch and shopped on the way down - and we were off by 12:30 p.m. as we had other places to go and there is not much %26quot;shopping/restaurants%26quot; as one would think but very delightful experience.

did you dine in bayeux????sk

|||

do you have any suggestions...dinner in deauville....and bayeux??????thanks...sk

We did eat there but at a Italian place right near the church the first night and the other night at a pizza place on the main street. The restaurants typically do not open until 7:00 p.m. We treated ourselves to one special place during our stay in France (in Honfleur) and the other times at more average places (cafes and sandwiche shops) due to the high cost of eating there.

Yes, you can drive to from/to those locations in one day no problem.

Enjoy your visit - it was quite lovely!

merci beaucoup!!!!

My advice would be to get to Mont Saint Michel as early as possible in order to avoid the big crowds (with coaches and coaches of tourists).

I strongly recommend the Tapestry when you visit Bayeux! As to dining I was recommended Le Pommier but could not eat there as one had to book.

|||

I agree- the Tapestry is a must! Try and see the video first and then the tapestry and museum. We missed the video due to the end of the day.

Highly recommend Le Petit Bistro in Bayeux for dinner. It%26#39;s tiny, so make reservations; same day would probably work.
