Hi, my husband and I are heading to Paris and Loire Valley in mid-May, arriving in Paris in the early morning (about 7am) of 9 May 09, and departing from Paris mid-day of 19 May 09. We have to be in Loire Valley on 11 May 09 (for a photoshoot); hence, once we touch down in Paris, we%26#39;ll be making our way to Loire Valley. However, we%26#39;re not sure whether it%26#39;s better to drive or to take a train. How long does it take to drive to Loire Valley? Is the drive pleasant and easy? Are there any convenient rest stops along the way? What is the recommended car rental companies. If by train, what types of train are available and where do we board such trains? How long is the train ride? How do we book the train tickets?
Considering the duration of our trip, would anyone recommend that we visit another place in France other than Paris and Loire Valley? I%26#39;m keen on the French Riviera, but would that make our itinerary too rushed (being in too many places in too short a time)? What would be the recommended length of stay in Loire Valley such that I have sufficient time to see the key sights? What about Paris?
What must we not miss when we%26#39;re in Loire Valley?
The last time I was in France was in 1995 while on a guided tour through Europe, hence am now completely clueless on where to begin. Some advice would really go a long way for us. Thanks.
