Transfers from Grenoble airport to Alpe-d'Huez

hi we are a group of 8 and i was wandering what the cheapest way would be for us to get return transfers to Alpe-d%26#39;Huez from Grenoble airport - ideas anyone?

We used Ben%26#39;s Bus last year, and have booked again this year. He uses municipal buses, between Grenoble Airport and Alpe d%26#39;Huez or Les Deux Alpes.

Have a look at www.bensbus.co.uk for prices.

Trans Isere buses cost 10 Euro each way and go roughly every hour, taking 3 hours - www.transisere.fr. Bens Bus is about twice this, but faster.

Hiwever, with 8 of you car rental is a good option. You may need two cars, but at around £120 per week if booked on HolidayAutos plus say 30 Euro for snow chains it may be your best option.

If you are still looking get in touch (direct if you can - I%26#39;m not sure how to use this website). It took me hours trawling the internet to find a reasonably priced taxi. Twice the price of Ben%26#39;s Bus but also half that of other taxi firms (BB%26#39;s small print says that if your flight is more than 45 minutes delayed they will leave without you - a risk I wasn%26#39;t willing take). Used BB for the return journey and we nearly missed our flight after they stopped a couple of times for others to join the bus - not something they advertise.

I%26#39;d always use bens bus from Grenoble to alpe D%26#39;huez i%26#39;m out there all the time and have always used bens bus i used to work in a bar in resort so know quite a lot of people who%26#39;ve used bens bus over the years and never a complaint !!!!

if there is room on the next bus they will happily put you on it (believe me i know)....... the web site says last year they did not leave a single person either at Grenoble Airport or in resort and none of their passengers ever missed their flight !!!! I don%26#39;t know of any other bus operators with a 100% record !!

We%26#39;ve been back to Alpe d%26#39;Huez 3 times in a row now and have used bensbus every time. I have to say they are excellent. Last year our flight was delayed out of Luton and we phoned ben and he had already arranged seats for us on the next bus. He already knew our flight was delayed before we had even contacted him! Would definitely recommend them. Slightly pricier than the public bus, which we used to use before bensbus started up, but definitely worth the extra money. The public bus can be an absoulte nightmare. Who did you use in the end J2theP? Would be interested to hear if there are any alternaties out there....?
