Can anyone suggest some good day hikes around Vence? Also, I%26#39;m not certain of the terrain, but I%26#39;m hoping that there are villages or other sites %26quot;uphill%26quot; from Vence that can be travelled to by bus early in the day, then we can make the return trip on foot. Any ideas?

You could do an easy - but very nice - walk down hill from Tourrettes-sur-Loup to Vence. I believe the bus that goes up to Tourrettes is the 510 and you can get off in the village%26#39;s square.
Have a wander round the village and walk to the %26#39;viewing platform%26#39; which overlooks the coast, from here you can walk down the hillside on a small path which leads you to the edge of a road and viaduct (great photo opportunity for Tourrettes from the bridge!)
You can then either walk directly back to Vence on the main road, or head down in to the valley and do a approx 30 minute wander round some of the valley/woods, which will lead you back up to meet the main Vence road via the Route de Pierascas.
The mountains above Tourrettes are also lovely for walks.
