Hi, from Montreal. We are also planning to spend about 4-5 nights in the Toulouse area this summer. We%26#39;re plan on visiting:
Albi
Cahors - village and vineyards
Rocamadour
Montauban
Carcassone - we%26#39;ve been there. (I highly recommend)
Drive down into the Pyrennees.
You can also drive west to Gascony area: over 300 bastides to visit.
Rent a car. You can drive through pretty countryside and come across very charming and intersting places along the way.
For wine tours, contact the office du tourisme in Cahors, and ask them for the information. They will send you information my mail.

Hi,
I agree with previous TA,Carcassonne is a great place to visit especially the Chateau. The Chateau has alot of history with its small streets of shops,cafe%26quot;s,hotel and church situated within the Chateau walls. The views from the Chateau are breathtaking.I have photo%26quot;s of the Chateau on my profile if you wish to view.
Another great place to visit is Foix, its Chateau,shops,cafe%26quot;s,restaurants,market (mon, wed,Fri),and its church. The locals i meet were very friendly and are happy to talk to you about Foix.
A fantastic place again to visit is Mirepoix, its a fabulous historic village with its ancient tudor style buildings.Again shops,cafe%26quot;s and restaurants. There is also a market day (fri).Dont forget to take your camera here, you wont be disappointed when you visit Mirepoix.
Myself personally,i would hire a car so you can choose places to visit at your leisure.
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for your information. We leave next week to visit our granddaughter who will be in her last week of a university exchange. So we are limited to day trips in the afternoon and one over nighter. I%26#39;ll start researching your suggestions.
