I have read about the Transco bus #44 but have no details. Can anyone provide information on the ease of use, frequency and timing of schedules, cost, etc.? Also, same questions for %26quot;Les Rapides de Bourgogne%26quot;.
I would appreciate any tips - pros and cons - as well as alternatives to these buses.
Thanks

Hi Liz,
You can find the schedules of all TRANSCO buses here
cotedor.fr/jahia/…
More details about buses in general
http://www.cotedor.fr/jahia/Jahia/pid/473
I couldn%26#39;t find any details about Rapides de Bourgogne (in Auxerre maybe)
Good luck :-)

Thank you. I have printed out the schedule for #44, but I%26#39;m afraid my French language skills are inadequate to grasp %26quot;the general information%26quot; part of the website you recommended.
Do you know if the bus delivers its pasengers into the center of a town? Have you ever taken this bus route or know of anyone who has? I guess my major concern revolves around the fear of being dropped off a distance from a town center, and also of being %26quot;stranded%26quot;.

I always say I should try to go to Beaune once to see what it is like.
From what I read it seems they leave you in the village center except when it is written RN74 which is the main road between Dijon and Beaune, maybe because the village is very close.
Don%26#39;t worry! :-)

Thanks, I%26#39;ll try to study the timetable and not %26quot;worry%26quot; so much. But if you hear about someone you know who has hopped on bus #44 for a sightseeing trip, please let me know.
A bientot

Hello
Bus 44 runs from around 06:30 in the morning from Dijon (Gare) and goes to Nolay it passes through many of the Cote Nuit, Cote de Beaune and Haute Cote de Beaune villages, Inc. Nuit St George, Beaune, Pommard Mersault La Rochepot. Frequency is 6 buses a day, Two morning, Two for lunch and Two for evening last buss arrive in Nolay at around 19:00hrs. Essentially it is a school service for Children/students although it does run during the holidays, public can pay on board. Give it a go very few people use it, graet way to do some wine tasting, without driving. A time table is available on board.

You can get a translation of any web page from Babelfish. Go to http://uk.babelfish.yahoo.com/ and put the URL of the relevant page where it says %26quot;Translate web page%26quot;.
The quality of translation is variable, but you should be able to get the sense.

The question about the 44 bus dropping in the centre of town is easy. In Dijon it drops at the Gare (railway staion) a ten minute walk to the centre, in Beaune it drops on the ring road a five minute walk from the centre vis the old ramparts and in Nolay it drops outside the Marie (Town hall)as for the villages they are all quite small so an issue of getting lost or walking long distances does not arise.
Time tables for the bus can be collected from the bus itself.
The Cote de Beaune is a wonderful area if anyone fancies visiting during the last weekend of January it is the St Vincent festival, patron saint of winemakers, a great time.

%26quot;In Dijon it drops at the Gare (railway staion) a ten minute walk to the centre%26quot; To be fair, it is in the town centre, not even 5 min from Place Darcy, 1 min to the Botanical Gardens and the National History museum and less than 15min from the Ducal palace. Voilà! ;-)

Hi there,
This info is from the Lonely Planet guide.
The bus station is in the train station complex. Details on bus options are available at the Transco information counter (03 80 42 11 00; 6am-8pm Mon-Fri, 7am-2pm %26amp; 3-6pm Sat, 10am-1pm %26amp; 4-8pm Sun). Schedules appear in the free Guide Horaire booklet; tickets are sold on board.
Transco bus 60 (12 to 17 daily Monday to Saturday, two Sunday) links Dijon with the northern Côte de Nuits wine villages of Marsannay-la-Côte, Couchey, Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin (30 minutes); the Pass Tourisme (€9) lets two to five people travelling together get on and off all day long. Dijon’s local Divia Ligne 15 goes to Marsannay-la-Côte.
I%26#39;m going to Dijon in May too.
Here%26#39;s to the win
