Lodging in Languedoc

We will be travelling throughout the Languedoc region June 17-27. Do we need to make lodging reservations in advance, or are we likely to be able to find something every evening?

I am assuming that it is for 2 people only. You will likely get a few %26quot;Complet%26quot; but providing you start looking by 3pm you should be OK. My own opinion is that since we have been booking ahead, we have stayed at better lodgings for a better price.

I agree with wigwam%26#39;s assessment that better accommodations book early. If you are content with less than first choice, you should have no problem.

In an ideal world, we would like to know where we will sleep each night.

However, there is also great enjoyment in being free to stay an extra day somewhere we%26#39;ve found interesting, or keep driving if the weather is bad.

With the exception of parts of Scandinavia, school holidays tend to start in July which means that you will enjoy fairly quiet roads and will not have problems in finding accommodation.

I%26#39;ve used Logis de France. They are private hotels with a central booking and standardisation system. They tend to be in old towns and rural areas rather than the motorway junction locations preferred by the more modern chains. Being able to book ahead each morning is much more flexible than booking 3 months in advance ? I%26#39;ve got some history about Logis de France here : the-languedoc-page.com/tourism/languedoc-tra…
