Just read this article about French Restaurants and the tourism factor.
Though I would pass along-maybe those of us traveling soon will reap some of the benefits. But also, bear in mind, the first people that will be affected by this price decrease is always the server-the owners will lower wages and the servers are usually first. (I only say this because I have been in management and ownership of restaurants for over 20 years. Buyer beware when you want to take it out on the server!)

Lowering wages would be illegal in France.
Contrary to what the article says, the question of lowering VAT from 19.6 to 5.5% is not exactly a scoop. President Chirac was the first to mention it 10 or 13 years ago.
Granted it comes at the right time, but restaurant owners have been lobbying for it long before the crisis....
