What distrcit in Paris has the best food/bars for late 20 yo

What district in paris has the best food, best bars for something in the late 20%26#39;s that wants to eat amazing but not ridiculously priced food in Paris.

Latin Quarter? (Mouffetard)

Marais

Etc.

Please help. Wondering where to stay?

Not Mouffetard....most of the restaurants there are tourist traps.

There are great restaurants all over Paris, the Marais/ 5th/6th arr. all have good choices with young crowds.

For nightclubs, Oberkampf is the place to be. (11th)

Thee Marais

Latin Quarter: mainly beer and brits, also the old jitterbug jazz clubs

Marais: South side of rue du Temple, des Archives et Vieille du Temple, plenty to chose from.

Bastille: rue de Lappe is out (I think), try further up north (around Keller) or east rue de la Forge Royale, Faidherbe, Charonne. Again, lots of choice.

Canal St Martin between rue Beaurepaire and square Villemin, or up rue de la Grange aux Belles (Adel near the canal, or further up to jazz cafe La Fontaine corner of rue J. Dodu), very close to:

Ste Marthe (rue and place): another large choice for a fairly small area

Well, that%26#39;s discouraging. I got the impression that rue Mouffetard was popular with Parisians as well as locals from this thread: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k14332…

But les advises that it is mainly filled with tourists. Ah well, that%26#39;s the reason for the forum. Better to find out now than using up some of my precious Paris hours going someplace i don%26#39;t want to be.

While I believe that Marais and the Oberkamphe areas are entertainment hot spots for young Parisians and tourists alike, I beg to differ with the broad generalisation about the Mouffetard. I stayed in the 5th two years ago, and I noticed that at night at least, the Place Contrescarpe, at the top of rue Mouffetard, appeared to be a hang-out for Parisian youth, as opposed to tourists. It appeared to be more of a late high school, undergraduate sort of scene. The cafes on the place were lively, and there were a lot of kids just hanging out on the square.

The kids were hanging out on the square because the bars and restaurants in this area are much to expensive for the student crowd.

For affordable places, where you will meet tons of people your age and have parties galore, the Latin Quarter.

For a truly Parisian crowd with an absolutely local flavour, Oberkampf.
