postcard paris!

I am taking my parents to Paris for a week (first timers) and we are staying near Bonne Nouvelle, which most comments on TA say is not postcard Paris! I was hoping for some favourite %26#39;postcard%26#39; Paris areas/neighbourhoods that you can recommend.

thanks : )

I love Ile St. Louis. It%26#39;s quaint, lovely and filled with friendly shopkeepers.

We stayed in the area two weeks ago. It is not postcard Paris. However, it was convieniently located because of the nearby metro. We were out and about all day so the immediate area was not a big concern. If you head south down Rue Poisonierre you will come to Rue Montorguiel. It is a vintage market street. Lots of great eating places and shopping. You can also head west down Blvd Poisonierre to Hausman where you will come to the Opea and Madelynn areas and the large department stores are fun to see.

Be sure to stop and see the Passage Joffroy off of Haussman next to the Hard Rock Cafe. There is a really nice little place called Valentine%26#39;s for lunch, breakfast or a snack.

I think you will be fine in that area.

Montmartre and Sacred Coeur and especially the steps leading up or down near the funicular.
