booking Eurostar prices

We 5 people looking at one way to London in May. Prices through raileurope.ca are 1000 CAN, direct with eurostar is more expensive (Only yields standard Felxible) and then Eurorailways is offering ~700CAN...Is it worth waiting and booking a day or two in advance or should we grab the cheap one??

Did you try Rail Europe only, not Rail Europe Canada? When I convert your cost to U.S. cost that is for 5 close to $200 U.S. apiece especially for one way. I believe our exchange is almost the same or has been recently in this economic mess. I think you can get it cheaper. We have in the past, about $100 U.S.

If you go mid-week in May from Paris to London you can get 5 tickets from the Eurostar web site for about 547 CAN (£300).

You%26#39;ll have to book early to get those prices and week-ends are dearer.

If you try and book a day or two in advance of your journey the price will be higher and probably sold out anyway.

If you haven%26#39;t read this, it might be helpful: http://www.seat61.com/London-Paris-train.htm

It helped us by round-trip Paris to London much cheaper than we expected.

Thanks for the suggestions...we went with eurorailways since it offered the best deal for our travel date.

Cheers!

Not sure where you found that price..@Eurostar I get the following...Which is outrageous! As noted we went with the eurorailways but I am interested in where you got your numbers!

Thanks again for the reply!

I entered mid May date ( the 15th I believe) for one way from Paris to London and it came up as 300 pounds for 5 people..only 60 pounds per person which is very good. I think buying from Eurostar directly gets the best price, its what I did for our trip in June.

|||

Hmm, when I look at Eurostar, I get a total cost for five tickets at 1055 pounds for full flexible second class. RailEurope.ca gives 1,825 Canadian and RailEurope.com US$1,460. Eurorailways gives US$1,472, just a bit more than RailEurope.com. It doesn%26#39;t look like there%26#39;s too much difference, but, boy all the options are confusing.

Glad you got them!

When I last played around with prices on the Eurostar website, I found that a return, non-flexible ticket was the cheapest way to go.

|||

We%26#39;ve bought our tickets and at a reasonable price so this is just for interest on my part. I would really like to know how KeithChesterfield and AislinnAdelaide are able to find low prices on the Eeurostar site??? The high quotes we are getting are for Standard Flexible..Is there a lower class fare that we are missing??

|||

I think I found the issue. We want to leave either Wed eve or Thurs morning. The prices there are high. As noted by others leaving on Wed. morning (not good for us) the Eurostar quote includes non-Flexible and the fares are quite reasonable...Somthing for future thought..

Thanks Again to all and %26#39;to all A good night%26#39;.....
