Your first Sunday looks incredibly full to me. The museum is so wonderful, as is the building it is housed in, and it looks like you will just be stopping in for a brief look.

|||

Oh, and don%26#39;t forget the memorial right behind Notre Dame on the %26quot;point%26quot; of the island--very moving.

|||

the bird market wont take long (more just to see all the varieties)...and the two marais markets will be probably only a few hours in total.

I know its hard to just be in rodin gardens and not go inside and not go in pompidou etc....but I will be back in paris and I would rather have 7 good days then 7...wait what did I do its such a fog...days..

thanks for thoughts...REALLY appreciated :-) even if it doesnt change something just the thought is great to raise...thank you for your time :-)

On Thursday you have Holocaust Museum on your itinerary. Do you mean the Deportation Memorial behind Notre Dame or the actual museum on r. Geoffroy l%26#39;Asnier? The reason I ask is because, unless you speak French, you may not be long at the museum. It%26#39;s all in French. No audioguides or anything. The pictures are very evocative, and the wall of names is moving, to be sure. But I do wish they%26#39;d install audio guides. I think more people would get more out of this important museum. (okay, small rant there:)

Otherwise it looks good. Don%26#39;t forget to stop at a café and relax and enjoy some great people-watching.

|||

thanks so much...yep cafe and small stops are not on there and will be included for sure....I plan on at least 1 hour a stay cafe people watching :-)

and yes the museum near the notre dame. I took 3 years of french in HS and my mom is a french teacher....but by no means perfectly lingual :-)

thanks so much for thoughts...greatly appreciated.

|||

also am I smart to go on a Tues to Versailles? I wanted to show my girlfriend the fountains and Sundays are PACKED...just a thought

|||

Just so you know, the memorial behind ND is not a museum. It%26#39;s an enclosure made of granite slabs that goes below ground. It%26#39;s meant to simulate how the prisoners felt being so crowded in, caged and away from light.

It%26#39;s a very solemn place. I was resting in the small park at the entrance, waiting for the attendant to come back from lunch so I could visit the memorial. A young couple began having a merry dance on the granite slabs at ground level. The attendant, who was lunching on a bench near me, went and gave them a stern lecture about their inappropriate behavior. As well he should have. We chatted afterward and were both astounded at their lack of sensitivity.

|||

thats like the seinfeld episode he made out with his gf while at schindlers list.

yes..very disrespectful...just like some people going to coffee shops before anne frank house...

and some people think it never happened...man oh man...but some people still say we haven%26#39;t gotten to the moon

thanks for thoughts...much obliged :-)

|||

looking at my itinerary....should I get the museum pass?

We are staying on Isle de La Cite. Since so much is close by should I just get a carnet of tickets rather than the hassle of a card?

IMO, you%26#39;re planning to do way too much. About half of that should be about right. Take time to smell the roses, as they say. Spend some time at a café, sit on a bench by the Seine, taking it all in and just enjoying being there. Paris is such a beautiful place, you don%26#39;t want to run right through it. Besides, if you see it all on this trip, what excuse will you have to go back?
