I am a slow traveler as well as mom. We will be staying in Paris for 10 days.
-Any accommodation or area that you may suggest?
-Shall I buy orange card or other type if I plan to go to Versilles and La villa Village (the outlet)? not sure which zone will cover those.
-Any other sidetrip that you may suggest?
Tks for advice

When you say slow traveler, I am also slow - I mosey along, lol a gag etc and irritate my husband to pieces. He is always a block ahead of me. Mostly now I go alone or with a girl friend who also moseys. I usually stay at the Best Western Folkestone Opera or the Best Western Sydney Opera. They are both off rue Tronchet a street which is on the back side of the Madeleine and connects onto Haussman. They are always clean and the staff is very nice. I have paid anywhere from 99 euro a night there to about 135 euro a nite. It depends on the season and what is going on during the week there and the day of the week. I book from home the U.S. 800 number and they include my taxes and breakfast. There are several nearby metros, one on rue Tronchet and several over on Haussman. You might look into it.
You now have to get your Carte Orange on the Navigo Decouverte card. All automated now. Carte Orange is good Monday thru Sunday so you will have to consider it. To find out the zones, a Paris map or metro map could probably help you. Can%26#39;t tell you what the card would cost if you included the outlets, or Versaille. Maybe you could find it on line.

Tks Pat for your recommendation. I have booked at Warwick cos my friend used to stay there and he said it was pretty safe for 2 ladies. Tks again now I will have to figure out how to get there from CDG airport.
Welcome to the slow travel club 555

Safety is about the last thing that should be on your list of criteria for Paris. I often travel there without my husband, and no matter where I have stayed (8 different arr.), I have never felt or been unsafe, at any hour of the day or night. I have been safe on the bus, on the Metro, on the RER, and on foot, wherever I have been.
