Which one of these should we make an effort to see? We are going to be in Paris April 14-22.

Don%26#39;t know about the opera or the ballet, but the Moulin Rouge is very pricey and in a lousy part of town. Why not try Paradis Latin. It%26#39;s a nice follies type show in the Latin Quarter, and it%26#39;s much cheaper.

Try to get into whatever is playing at the Opera Garnier. The building alone is worth seeing. We got tix to a bizarre show, and ended up strolling the amazingly beautiful galleries with wine glasses in hand during the second half, had the place to ourselves. Whatever you do, don%26#39;t do the Moulin Rouge, it%26#39;s a total tourist trap!

I agree. Opera Garnier is magnificent. If you don%26#39;t want to see a performance, they have great tours in English. The place is INCREDIBLE!!
And you%26#39;re only a block from Lafayette Galleries. The interior of the main store has a magnificent glass rotunda--beautiful from the inside.
Then you can take the escalators all the way to the top floor and have something to eat in the cafeteria and walk out onto the deck and get a magnificent view of Paris.
Have a great trip.
And yes, DON%26#39;T SKIP THE MOULIN ROUGE!!

I think there may be a ballet performance while you are there - Google the Paris Opera Ballet to see - there was mention here on the forum of a ballet by Tchaikovsky (where is spell check when you need it?) - I think Onegin - but with different spelling. The ballet company will be supported by the full orchestra, which would make a performance terrific even if you hated the ballet.
