Car hire at Avignon Centre Station...

Is it possible to hire a car here where the direct Saturday Eurostar service arrives, or do i need to get the shuttle bus to the TGV station ?

I cant seem to find a supplier at the Centre Station !

Unless something has changed very recently, Avis is the only rental agency located at the Avignon Centre Ville train station.

There are several agencies not terribly far from the Centre station. It would be worth a short taxi ride to avoid the train station pickup surcharge if they are open on Saturday.

You can find them by making a search with Kemwell or Autoeurope.

In answer to kj556 re: car hire at Avignon station. Just been informed by Eurostar that both stations are 2 mins from each other. They advise to book car hire from TGV. Good luck!!

Ah - Eurostar are not telling correct information then re two gares in Avignon!! For kj5556 info, the AA via Avis have car hire from Eurostar direct, at Centre station SNCF as well as TGV! Try them to be certain. Again, good luck.

I can now confirm that after extensive research AVIS are the only supplier at the Avignon Centre Station...there are many options from the nearby TGV station, and a shuttle bus operates between the two. The rates with Avis if booked and prepaid in advance seem to be very competative.

It is about 2 miles from Avignon TGV station to Avignon Centre station: not exactly close!
