Taxi's

We will be staying on Rue Sainte-Anne. Is it easy to get a taxi from Chatelets station to this location?

Is it easy to get a taxi early in the morning (about 0700) to get to Gare Nord and Gare St. Lazare?

Or would we have to call for a taxi? Does the meter start when they leve to pick you up?

Yes its easy to get a taxi at Chatelet, just look for a taxi stand. You can call for a taxi also. The meter starts when the taxi leaves to pick you up so when you get in the taxi there will be an amount already on the meter.

To get a taxi from your apartment, the closest taxi stand looks to be the one at Pl. Opera. This is their phone number - 01.47.42.75.75

Finding a free taxi early in the morning may be more of a challenge than you might think. There may well be Taxis parked at regular Taxi Stands...but they may well have %26#39;hoods%26#39; over their %26#39;dome%26#39; lights and simply been parkd there overnight, waiting for their drivers to begin the %26#39;day-shift%26#39;.

Your best best will probably be to pre-arrange for an early morning Taxi pick-up at your accommodations the afternoon or ebvening before your early AM departure.

Here%26#39;s a website that lists the taxi ranks by arrondissement with their phone numbers.

Most purchased maps also show them (usually marked with a blue T), but unfortunately, Google Maps doesn%26#39;t.
