Batobus

Hello -

Has anyone used the Batobus (Spelling?) It looks nice and convenient. Was it worth it. Also, can you book online and print tickets from home.

Thank you - Blanche

I used it last Monday (the 30th) as a cruise as opposed to a bus. A round trip takes under 2 hours. I enjoyed it, it is cheaper than an actual cruise but without the commentary which was fine for us because we didn%26#39;t want any.

Be aware, we encountered several school groups also using it - but we encountered them everywhere.

Don%26#39;t know if you CAN buy in advance, but you don%26#39;t NEED to. Every stop has a booth selling the passes, they also give you a brochure with a time-table so if you do use it like a bus you can plan accordingly.

Tip - everyone rushes to the seats on the right side, but it is better to sit on the left and see the scenery on the other side of the river, on the right side all you see is the quais because you are so close.

The Batobus is a river bus with a number of stops. you can buy single trip, one day and two day tickets. They are quite large boats with no commentary.

An alternative is the Vedettes boats which start and finish at the Pont du Neuf. They use smaller boats with a commentary. You can also book on line or get a reduction coupon.

Last year on a three day trip we used both. The Batobus to get from the Eiffel Tower to the Jardin de Plantes and then back to The Louvre. But used the Vendettes boat for a cruise to just see the sights on our first day.
