Do I need a ticket in advance for Versailles for a Sunday?

I will be visiting Versailles on a Sunday afternoon in late May. Do I need to buy a ticket in advance or can I just buy the ticket when I show up there? I tried looking at buying advance tickets on the Versailles Official Website but it doesn%26#39;t seem like you can do an advance purchase for the 1 day pass online. Thanks.

If you%26#39;re going to be visiting any museums as well, then the museum pass would be the way to go.

No need to stand in a ticket line that way....

We were at Versailles on Sunday March 22. It was a cold morning and around 10:30 when we stepped outside we saw that the line for tickets was unbelievably long and people were cold.

I strongly recommend the museum pass if that works for you. But don%26#39;t plan to buy it at Versailles - buy it at the airport or a smaller museum ahead of time.

Or go very first thing in the morning.

Or march to the front of the line and tell people you are going on a guided tour and turn right when you enter the building. You can buy both the guided tour and regular admission together!

But don%26#39;t just go midday unless you love (and are dressed for) standing in a long line.

Versailles is definitely worth going to - the grounds were especially beautiful.

Was at Versaille on Sat 4th Apr ard noon time. Queue for tickets was LONG. Very glad we had the museum pass which allows us quick access into the grounds. Highly recommended to get the museum pass (do note that the museum pass excludes the fountain show).

However, we had to QUEUE for toilets, which was a big turnoff.

I%26#39;m not visiting any of the Museums in Paris for this visit (done that before) - just doing Versailles. Does anyone know why I can%26#39;t buy the 1 day Museum Pass for a Sunday online (it doesn%26#39;t seem to allow me to do so)?

There are two different passes one for Monday - Friday and one for weekends.

Museum pass for two days (minimum) is 32 euro.

Can be bought at the FNAC stores Monday to Saturday.
