I was advised to take a train to Fontainbleau-Avon from the Gare de Lyon station by TRAIN. I have will have a Paris Visite pass, will this cover the train. I am used to RER...not trains...please explain...
Thanks

The distance to Fontainbleau-Avon (zone 6) is within the range of the more comprehensive Paris Visite (zone 1 to zone 6). As Fontainbleau-Avon is beyond the RER D limit of Melun, you will be required to take the Transilien train from Gare de Lyon. I am not sure if travel on the Transilien system is covered by the Paris Visite pass. Perhaps others can give a more definitive answer.
Outside of using the Paris Visite Pass, there are two options to reach Fontainbleau:
1. The train at Gare de Lyon, schedule here:

Take the train in the direction of Montargis Sens and disembark at Fontainbleau-Avon.
Fare 9.40€
En route time 1+02
2. The Parisvision bus:

So after I get off of the train at Fontainbleau-Avon, then what. Am I there at the Chateau? Or do I have to pay for another bus or something?

There%26#39;s a bus to take you from the station to the palace according to the website:
http://www.musee-chateau-fontainebleau.fr/
|||
As outlined above, from Gare de Fontainebleau-Avon, take busline AB to Château
Fare 1.40€
Buses every 15 mintues.

Will the SNCF take my Paris Visite Pass to Fontainbleau-Avon?. I am buying all 6 zones pass.
Thanks
