Never been to Paris, don%26#39;t want to break the bank, 2 young single females traveling to paris. Where should we stay? Hotel, Hostle? Areas?

The last couple of times I went, i stayed in Montmartre, which I enjoyed, But others might find it kind of seedy, because it%26#39;s close to Pigalle, but I liked it.
As for a hotel or a hostel, that really depends on your lifestyle. A hostel will be more sociable, but also might be noisier. In the hostel, you may also have to share a room with anywhere from 4 to 10 people, guys and/or girls in bunk beds, share bathrooms.
I stayed at a hostel when I was 18, and met tons of people. We rarely were in our rooms, up very late. It was a great time.
I went again when I was 32, and 35 and stayed at a hotel both times. I still love the nightlife, and we only used our hotel for sleeping, but when we were there, we loved that we had our own room, and bathroom and had some quiet.

look at hotels on Trip Advisor. Paris has 20 arrondissements (districts, wards, whatever). The ones with low numbers are where the majority of tourists stay therefore the prices are higher (there are some cheap hostels in the 4th districts). Districts with higher numbers are more reasonably priced (EXCEPT for the posh ones on the west side like 16th and 17th) but ALL 20 districts have great metro connections allowing you to go anywhere downtown. Montmartre, away from Pigalle, is a very nice place to be. Very villagey. You definitely need to read a guidebook and use Goggle for detailed maps of each district before you start looking for hotels. And try to learn about the local currency..

Hi!
Definitely avoid any arrondissements greater than the 7th. I wouldn%26#39;t stay in Montmartre as it is too far from the center of Paris and Pigalle is a little seedy. You can always visit there by metro for a day.
Best would be Le Marais, Saint-Germain ... try looking at apartments on www.vrbo.com.
Best regards
Bill
